City by City, town by town, the UK is seeking to go fossil fuel free, part of a global movement to reduce emissions and meet climate change targets.

Our new VeriGreen Flexy-Glass® ranges are linked to 100% waste cooking oil via mass balance, that is sourced primarily from commercial frying oil.

The material which is linked to 100% Used Plant Oil** via mass balance and carbon neutral* significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions compared to material made from fossil fuel-based feedstocks.

The carbon footprint on a case of 1000-pint VeriGreen Flexy-Glass® is reduced, saving 1485g CO₂.

This is confirmed by the LCA certificate supplied by TOTAL, the raw material producer. It shows a -180% cradle to gate CO₂ saving compared to standard fossil fuel generated Polypropylene.

At eGreen, we advocate responsible disposal and recycling above all else.

Our VeriGreen and VeriGreen Plus Flexy-Glasses are designed to be recycled first and foremost, supporting the circular economy and helping to keep valuable materials in use.

VeriGreen Plus, Designed to Disappear technology is not an alternative to recycling, nor does it encourage littering. It provides a safeguard for the small number of cups that may be accidentally or irresponsibly discarded into the environment.

If a cup escapes the waste and recycling stream, the technology helps it break down naturally over time – approximately 2 years using the Biotransformation process – reducing its long-term environmental impact.

Importantly, the VeriGreen Plus Flexy-Glass contains just 2% Designed to Degrade additive within the PP base material. The additive represents only a small proportion of the overall material and is designed so that the cup can enter the recycling stream without the Designed to Disappear process being activated during normal recycling. The PP material remains suitable for recycling, with recycling as the preferred end-of-life route.

The Designed to Disappear technology is therefore intended as a safeguard for cups that escape responsible waste and recycling systems, not as a replacement for them.

Always check with your local authority or waste management provider for specific recycling and disposal guidelines in your area, as collection and recycling facilities can vary.
